Happy 2020 everyone!
A little bit of me was hoping things wouldn't be terrible right off the bat, but that's not the world we live in. However, even in dark times there is hope. We have an election this year where we can kick the turnip out. We can put pressure on the Senate to impeach Trump, a long shot, but worth doing anyway. We can support local governments and turn over state governments and inch by inch, county by county, make things better for people in our communities. We can show up to protests, write postcards, make phone calls, give money, and support each other. Change is an endurance event, and even in the face of overwhelming power and odds we can make things better.
What we do matters. This is a world worth fighting for.
A few announcements: @tanaqui has started a sister comm for the UK, @thissterlingcrew to serve much the same function for our friends living in their post-election world. It will have similar open posting of actions and information.
I'm clearing the cache of our list of on-going actions to start us fresh and for 2020, I'm going to try to do that every month.
